For those who have dabbled in both hacks and retro achievements, is there a way to modify a ROM but still have it keep whatever info it needs to be recognized for achievements? The stuff I mainly add are QoL, including fan translations and restoring cut content, or simple improvements. Any developer can add these hashes but depending on the change it might not be allowed due to giving an unfair advantage.' Once you load a game up the emulator checks the hash and if it matches any tied to a set you'll get an achievement list. 'A file produces a unique MD5 hash that gets linked to a set. Problem is that it seems hacking a ROM may make the game unrecognizable for the Retro Achievement app to pick up (it requires a WiFi connection and RetroArch, along with a user account for the site).
